DIY Nails: How to Make Your Press-On Nails Last Up to 3 Weeks

If you love the convenience and beauty of press-on nails but wish they lasted longer, you’re in the right place! I’m sharing my step-by-step guide on how to make your press-on nails last up to three weeks.

Step-by-Step Guide:

  1. Prep Your Natural Nails

    • Start by cleaning and prepping your nails using a nail drill to gently buff the surface. This ensures a better grip for the adhesive and helps the press-ons last longer.

    • Nail Drill

  2. Remove Oils with Nail Swipe

    • Go in with Young Nails Nail Swipe to eliminate any oils from your nail surface. This step is crucial for preventing lifting.

  3. Apply Nail Primer

    • Use the Young Nails Protein Bond for added adhesion. This primer helps the press-on nails stay put without damaging your natural nails.

  4. Select Your Press-On Nails

    • Pick out the perfect set of nails from the BTA Art Box French Tip Gel Nails. These nails are chic and durable, ideal for long-lasting wear.

  5. Apply Beetles 9-in-1 Nail Glue Gel

    • Apply Beetles 9-in-1 Nail Glue Gel to your natural nails before attaching the press-on nails. This gel acts as both a glue and a base coat, ensuring strong adhesion and long-lasting results.

  6. Attach the Nails

    • Press the selected nails onto your natural nails firmly, holding for a few seconds until they are set.

  7. Apply Base Coat

    • Next, use the Jodsone Bottom Layer Base Coat for a smooth foundation. Apply one layer and cure it as needed.

  8. Add Your Desired Color

    • If you’d like a pop of color, go in with your chosen gel polish (I used two coats). Cure each layer for the best results.

    • Optional: color polish

  9. Finish with Top Coat

    • Seal your manicure with a top coat for a high-shine, long-lasting finish. Cure for the recommended time to lock everything in.

  10. Clean Up the Edges

    • Use acetone nail polish remover and a small brush to clean any excess polish around your nails for a salon-perfect look.
